Bottary, Ryan
Ryan Bottary, Ph.D., Psy.D., treats children, adolescents, adults, and parents address sleep difficulties through evidence-based cognitive and behavioral methods. His work spans insomnia, circadian rhythm issues, bedtime resistance, nightmares, sleep-related anxiety, sleep schedule irregularities, and chronic sleep dysregulation.
Because sleep rarely happens in a vacuum, Dr. Bottary also targets commonly co-occurring conditions such as ADHD, anxiety, mood disorders, behavioral challenges, and family dynamics. Parent coaching is available when change needs to be scaffolded in the home environment.
Dr. Bottary earned his Ph.D. in cognitive neuroscience studying the mechanisms through which poor sleep and emotion interact. He then completed a postdoctoral clinical psychology respecialization program (Psy.D.) to be able to directly treat the conditions he was studying.
His practice now integrates both tracks: treatments that are practical and measurable in day-to-day life, and an ongoing research program that keeps him at the leading edge of behavioral sleep science.
Dr. Bottary's aim is to help people sleep better in the real world — efficiently, collaboratively, and without unnecessary complexity.
